About Beth Tigay

Beth Tigay, Moving Traditions’ new California director, has extensive experience in adolescent education in both secular and Jewish contexts.

An English/Humanities teacher with fifteen years of classroom experience, she comes to Moving Traditions after serving as Head of Middle School for the Larchmont Charter School in Los Angeles. Prior to her work at Larchmont she was the middle school Dean for Milken Community High School, a private Jewish high school in Los Angeles. Beth earned her Bachelor’s of Arts degree in English Literature from University of California in Los Angeles and completed classwork toward a Masters in Education at Pepperdine University.

Beth is an active member of the dynamic spiritual community, IKAR, where her husband is the chazzan. She and her family are drawn to the values to which the community is devoted: social justice, diversity, and equality. Beth loves to do yoga, cook, and hike in the beautiful mountains of Southern California. She is also an avid reader and life-long learner. Beth is thrilled to be joining Moving Traditions as she melds her commitment to and passion for adolescent development, gender equality, Jewish education, and relationship building to bring opportunities for engagement to Jewish teens in California.
